Later today we skied by an old barn near to the guard station. I think some wolves sleep in there at night.

Skiing back to the cabin after a 4 to 6 miles ski trip along Stump Creek Rd, which was completely covered in deep snow. The cabin is along the Lander's Cut-off on the Oregon Trail.

Today we snowshoed back to the car (we had to ski or snowshoe about 1 mile to the cabin) to go into town (Auburn, WY) and send some postcards. We also stopped to get some candles because the propane lights in the cabin weren't working right. The picture is taken on our way back to the cabin by the willows in Stump Creek.

I am shoveling a path from the cabin front door to the gate. I also had to shovel a path from the cabin's back door to the out house! We are staying the next three nights at the Stump Creek Guard Station.

Snowshoeing around Polecat Creek on our attempt at finding some back country natural hot springs north of Jackson Lake in the Grand Tetons National Park. We found them, but ended up on the wrong side of a river! Damn!

Me looking upset after we were so close to the hot springs (about 3 miles south of the Yellowstone National Park border) but couldn't get to them because we took the wrong trail and ended up on the other side of a river that we didn't feel safe to ford! Thwarted, but we will return in the future!!!

My turn to pull the ski pulk for the rest of the way back to the visitor's center! Its not actually that heavy until you start going uphill!

Skiing to our camping site by the ice caves in Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho. We took out our ski pulk that we made ourselves just a few days ago. It works!

We are headed out to do our first snow camping experience on skis. One of my dreams was to XC ski in Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho, and here we are!!!! They had a ton of snow covering the lava fields!

Merry Christmas! Making camp in a field covered by snow just north of Wells, Nevada on some BLM land! We needed somewhere to camp and this place was just off the road (Hwy 93) and flat and clear of vegetation. It snowed overnight and was pretty windy!

Today I am posting a video instead of a picture! This is a funny video clip of me falling down (in slo-mo) on my back country XC skis when I hit a bunch of ruts dug into the snow by snowmobiles. We found a hill near Spooner summit in Nevada in the National Forest.

Today we went XC skiing at TahoeXC, near Tahoe City, CA. I'm sipping on some hot cocoa at the warming hut.

This is us on Treasure Island. Weird place, kind of half abandoned yet with people living on it. It was cool to see the bay bridge from a different perspective.

Today we saw TRON in the Emeryville movie theater in Imax and 3D. It was awesome!
