I got notice today that my postdoc host institution can be switched to DRI for the NRC Fellowship! Yay!

Nicole dropped me off at the airport, and now I'm flying to Chicago for Xmas. Romy already left a week ago to start working on the Buick.

Just turned in all my surveys and the signature page of my dissertation to the graduate division office at Berkeley. I am done!!!! PHinisheD!!!!!! Woooo hoooooooooooooo!

Today I uploaded my dissertation to get published by ProQuest, but first Berkeley has to approve it.

I got all my signatures on my dissertation! I am a few days away from being Dr. Jennifer Frederick!!! Wooo hooo!

Today I have my poster presentation at AGU. I had to wake up super early to catch the Montclair transbay bus.

We went out for beer at 21st Ammendement in San Francisco after Carolina's talk at AGU.

The Dingo's new home is in Roseville, CA at Wallentine Motorsports! It was really cold outside, in the low 30s.

We went to Travertine Hot Springs outside of Bridgeport tonight, and when we got out of the springs it was sooooo cold outside. This cold: I didn't know the Subaru could measure a temperature that cold! -13F!!!

We took a hike near Spooner Lake today, and the fire service was doing control burns. We walked past this huge bonfire.

We are officially Nevada residents now and so is the Subaru! This is just a temporary plate - we got a cool Battle Born plate which will be a vanity plate and needs to be special ordered.

Traffic was really bad today, so we stopped at Elevation 66 in El Cerrito on our way home to Carson City. It was kind of cold in there.

Oh my god the exit seminar is over. Buffett bought a bunch of Chimay instead of champagne (yes!) and then we went out to get fish tacos in Berkeley to celebrate during the after party! YAY!

We're back in Oakland and we found an awesome taco truck - super cheap and yummy. We got tripe and beef tongue tacos.

I need to spend the next few days working on my exit seminar. That means I am almost done with my PhD at Berkeley! Wooo!

I drove all night from the Mexican border, all the way to Bridgeport California in about 7 hours. We decided to take a pit stop for a nice morning soak at Buckeye Hot Springs. We had the whole damn place to ourselves!

It seems like our time in Ensenada was over as soon as it started! Here we were with Dennis, Gaby, and Debbie, at the compound before heading home.

OMG the race is over! The Dingo made it 570 miles on the coarse. Then Toby drove it all the way back to Ensenada (another 3 hour drive, with a taco stop along the way) and took it over the finish line!!!!!!!

The race starts for us is only a few hours. Romy is co-driving with Crusty for the first 200 miles. Rosh looks like he's taking a piss, but I think he was looking for some tacos.

Today the car is being paraded through downtown Ensenada for tech & contingency, the day before the Baja 1000 starts for us!!! Rugged Radios is one of the team's sponsors.

Three out of the six Beetles (class 11) have their home base here, at the compound. Looks like Romy is the only guy working!

Sunset in Ensenada is awesome tonight! We are staying in Dennis and Debbie's compound, and we got to sleep in the "honeymoon suite."

We just arrived in Ensenada Baja California to race the Baja 1000! Romy and Dennis (whose is racing that sweet looking Beetle Class 11) are chatting at Dennis's compound.

I found a cafe with internet and made a free international wifi call to Romy on my Samsung. Today I went to the British Museum and it's my birthday!

Today I took a walking tour of the City of London, in the rain! I am by St Paul's Cathedral.
