Today we took a 100 mile ride from our house to Las Vegas (New Mexico, not Nevada). It was awesome! We took dirt ranching roads and it was so beautiful! Here we took a snack and water break.

Jenn

Today we packed the kayaks for our trip next weekend, where we will be kayaking down the Green River through Canyonlands National Park in southern Utah. I was able to stuff the sleeping bag into the front cargo area. Success! I am soooooo excited!

Romy

The spinach just exploded! We are starting to harvest it!

The sunrise is illuminating the gazebo and Romy needs to take the bike to work so we can get an alignment on the Subaru.

A co-worker gave us this 10 year old tree because it outgrew her window area. I LOVE it!

This is the San Francisco River in New Mexico. There is a hot spring down there!

Today we finally went to see the Gila Cliff Dwellings! We were here 5 years ago, but a huge storm washed the bridge out which went to the cliff dwellings so we never saw them!

Romy

We are camping in the National Forest somewhere between the Very Large Array and the Gila area. There were huge volcanic cliffs. We saw so many animals! Elk, fox, coyote, Montezuma quail, antelope, javelinas (wild boar), basically every animal that lives in mountainous New Mexico except the cougar. We did not see a mountain lion but I was really expecting to after all the wildlife!

Cold, cloudy, windy, cold. We decided to go on a hike after work today towards the Sandia Crest. We are at 10,000ft. Isn't that just awesome how we can go on a hike after work and be at 10,000 ft!?!? Oh. . . and we ran into a BLACK BEAR on our hike! Thankfully it ran away from us.

Romy got something from Amazon! We just decided to get Amazon Prime since we do so much ordering. Don't you just love the 70s floor?

Romy

Romy is blinded by the sun. We are going on a hike down Coyote Rd (at least that's what I think its called).

Jenn

Today we went to Lincoln, NM. This is inside the old courthouse where Billy the Kid (did not) shoot the sheriff (he shot somebody else but now I forgot). That is supposedly damage on the wall from some stray bullets. I really really liked visiting Lincoln!

Romy

We went camping to the Lincoln National Forest. We had to drive the bus over a river crossing. When we got to this camp site, a man riding a horse bare-backed greeted us. He had two other horses with him that he had under VOICE CONTROL (no 'leash' or anything). As if they were dogs! What an amazing place! We had to deal with two break downs just to get here. One was a break down with the bus (the fuel pump stopped working) and the other was a rancher's big diesel truck that broke down on the road just shortly after we got going again that Romy decided to stop and help. We were then visited the next morning by Christian Jews (is that an oxymoron?) who camped near us that just wanted to say hello.

Romy's doing something or another under the bus. We finally got around to replacing the transmission and we're hoping to take another bus trip soon now that the weather is getting nice!

We went rock climbing in the Bandalier National Monument near Los Alamos, NM. Romy's flip flop broke so he had to walk in the cold frozen mud barefoot. But it was funny when it happened so that's why he's smiling!

Tonight we camping along the rim of an ancient large volcano. It's called the Valles Caldera, near Santa Fe and Los Alamos, New Mexico. And yes - that is snow on the ground still.

We did it! We finally planted tons of veggie seeds in the greenhouse! Woo hoo! And the irrigation is all working! I love our greenhouse!

Bleeding the brakes on both of our mountain bikes tonight!

Hiking yet again! This time out of Monticello on the Tres Pistolas trail (three guns in Spanish). My favorite trail so far!!!!!

Hiking again! I love the time change! Now we can go hiking after work!

We took a hike a short bit south of where we live, in Tijeras, on a nice loop trail. If only you can see the trail! Part of it was the Grand Enchantment Trail that goes from Phoenix to our house (ok, not exactly, but within 3 miles of it!).

I hurt my neck belaying because I had to look up all the time, so I got these lazy readers and turned them upside down to make my ghetto cheap belay glasses!

We made it to the top of Montezuma Pass, which is in the Coronado National Monument at the Mexico-Arizona border!!!

Romy

We made it for a 2pm tour of the Copper Queen Mine in Bisbee, AZ. The tour is given by old miners who worked in these mines in the 70s.

Romy

We are getting the bike racks ready for our next weekend trip to go riding in southern Arizona!

Romy

Went to Tucson, AZ this weekend, and we were told by a coworker that we should stop at Kent's Tools.

Took a bunch of wood and miscellaneous construction scrap to the dump outside of Albuquerque.
