Hiking yet again! This time out of Monticello on the Tres Pistolas trail (three guns in Spanish). My favorite trail so far!!!!!

Hiking again! I love the time change! Now we can go hiking after work!

We took a hike a short bit south of where we live, in Tijeras, on a nice loop trail. If only you can see the trail! Part of it was the Grand Enchantment Trail that goes from Phoenix to our house (ok, not exactly, but within 3 miles of it!).

Pecos National Historic Park, New Mexico, near Santa Fe. This is an old pueblo village that was taken over by the Spanish missionaries.

I hurt my neck belaying because I had to look up all the time, so I got these lazy readers and turned them upside down to make my ghetto cheap belay glasses!

We made it to the top of Montezuma Pass, which is in the Coronado National Monument at the Mexico-Arizona border!!!

We made it for a 2pm tour of the Copper Queen Mine in Bisbee, AZ. The tour is given by old miners who worked in these mines in the 70s.

We are getting the bike racks ready for our next weekend trip to go riding in southern Arizona!

Went to Tucson, AZ this weekend, and we were told by a coworker that we should stop at Kent's Tools.

Took a bunch of wood and miscellaneous construction scrap to the dump outside of Albuquerque.

We are installing the propex finally! This is so we can have heat in our bus for the xmas and New Years bus trip!

I put my cowboy out today but Romy doesn't like it for some reason. He complained until I moved it to another location, which could be clearly seen from the gazebo instead of the garage. This is the cowboy that Nicole made me for my birthday when we lived in Carson City.

Romy is internetting in the sun room at night. We discovered that hanging the fan works the best so far in blowing the hot air from the bedroom (which has the fireplace going) to the rest of the house.

Nicole and my mom dropped me off at the Orinda Bart today. I went to my last day of AGU in San Francisco and then took the new and shiny AirBart to the Oakland Airport!

My mom is visiting Nicole and Marcel's place for Christmas. She asked her brother (who lives in the Czech Republic) to bring the Czech version of Sorry! called Chlovece Nezlob Se! It was fun! My mom kept winning so we made her a Stalin Award!

This is Tuna the male goat. He likes attention. The other goats in the background are Milkshake and Cheddar. They are female goats. Cheddar is in milk right now. Nicole says that Milkshake must be a lesbian goat.

Home on the farm! This is a male turkey that Nicole raised. He guards the female turkeys. Whenever a human or predator gets near, he will poof up his feathers and parade around like this for ever!

I am at the Orinda Bart Station going to San Francisco on a Sunday. It's for a pre-AGU workshop with the Permafrost Carbon Network. Google it! We study how carbon moves around in the permafrost regions of the Arctic.

Romy

The garage still has a bunch of boxes in it. We haven't been as quick with unpacking in the garage because its been cold.

Another fire! We make one each night to warm the house. We have a lot of wood here to burn.

Finally, we are hanging up the Mexican hanging chairs in the sun room. Don't try this at home!

We got Chinese food from China Best next to the hippy mountain grocery store and it was so good! All the veggies were fresh and they didn't put a lot of salt in the food.

Just dropping some stuff off at our new house. We may need to filter the water because it has a sulfur smell to it. (update: There is no longer a sulfur smell. It seemed to be the stagnant hot water in the water heater only. Once we flushed that out, the water has no noticeable odor.)
