We got lost riding around near Washoe Lake. What a nice view, but crazy steep road ahead.

We just signed all our loan docs at the title company in Reno and we are going to close on our house tomorrow!

Romy

Romy's bike doesn't like to start when its a little cooler out. Romy is wearing his new riding jacket today!

Romy

Romy's Olympia riding jacket finally came in after ordering almost a month ago!!! It looks good!

Jenn

All the repairs on our new house are almost done! Today I met the home inspector for his second inspection of the house. Today he checked if all the repairs we asked for were done properly, but some stuff was not finished! More repairs needed this week.

Romy

Romy's looking for some VW parts that he needs to ship. I am now home from Portugal!

Jenn

I finally went to visit the famous Capela de Ossos in Evora on the last day of the conference! It is a church with many human bones inside that line the walls.

Jenn

In the afternoon, the whole conference had a field trip to visit Monseraz, a midieval village near the Spanish border. I am at the fort and you can see the village behind me.

Jenn

Today is the first day of the EUCOP4 conference (which started after all of the workshops). It is at the University of Evora, which was built by the kings of Portugal in the 1500s.

Jenn

I am on my way to the submarine permafrost mapping "action group" meeting. Its a little overcast today in Evora.

Jenn

Just got my badge and I am wearing my new dress. It is hot and kind of humid here! Tonight is dinner with all of the PYRN workshop people. I took a nap and don't have much jet lag this time.

Jenn

I am at the Charlotte, NC airport almost about to board my final flight of the day to Lisbon, Portugal on US Airways! I am excited to learn more about permafrost.

Romy

Here is most of the team on Sunday morning before we all headed out. Chase 3 got a new sound system!

Today we are heading north of Sparks for the Dingo test weekend! Gotta fill up on gas!

I already posted my message on the office door about how I'll be gone next week! I had to resist writing that I will be in Portugal, but curious people could always google EUCOP4.

So, I went shopping at Raley's in the baja, and this bug parked next to me! Then some guy took a picture of the baja and the convertible bug. It was like a mini VW show in the parking lot I guess.

Romy

Romy's putting his riding gear on. He's been riding the motorcycle to and from work lately.

We went to the Brewer's Lair just outside of Graeagle on Hwy 70 in California on our way back home from Quincy. They are a brewery that is open in the summer and they serve beer at their small tasting room. They open up the yard to relax outside with their beer! What a nice place!

This weekend we went to Quincy for the annual Trainspotting VW camp-out! We saw a bunch of VW Bus people that we didn't see in a long time! It was soooooooooo hot!

The Subaru has been down all week! Mega overhaul. I drove the baja to work today! All by myself! I took old 395.

The roses are blooming! When we first moved here, they were thorny stumps and I stepped in them so much by accident that I almost ripped them out! Romy's taking the old transmission out of the Subaru and opening it up!

I am making a side tube tent for Bubbles. We're going to use it at Burning Man this year. Its made out of canvas I bought at the Fright Fest.

Our new memory foam mattress came in the mail! (Yes, it came in the mail from FedEx!)

Romy took his bike to work today to try it out.

Our first off-road ride! It was fun! We went out of Carson City on Brunswick Canyon Rd, and that joined up with Sunrise Pass Rd. Then we took Sunrise Pass over the pass and went back towards Dayton on Como Rd. Como was very rough.
