On the bus going home with more books to study! Today the bus driver, Singh, told us gross stories about his friend's Indian food restaurant.

I just finished a homework assignment (the intense C++ programming one I was working on the whole weekend) and I am so happy! I'm in Hearst Mining Building at UC Berkeley where the office hours were for the C++ class.

We took a walk today by the Briones Reservoir on an EBMUD trail. There were a lot of oak trees, and a red tailed hawk squawked at us while it hovered over us in the air!

The studying never ends, even on Saturday night! I can't wait until my quals are over (October 11th).

Jenn

While I was cooking dinner, Romy dropped the camera on accident, but it landed on my foot and it really hurt! My foot saved the camera.

Today I got my personal and premium parking spot on the hill!

These gluten-free muffins just popped out of the oven! I made them with tapioca, buckwheat, and brown rice flours. They are so good!

Studying, studying, and more studying!

Starting a really intense programming assignment for my computational science class.

Jenn

I made fresh pasta with gluten free flours! I used brown rice flour, millet flour, and tapioca flour. I am cutting it into noodles. It was soooooo good!

Romy

Today I tried to turn in my application for the qualifying exam form to the Graduate Division in Sproul Hall, but they said they couldn't take it because I was missing a signature!

This is how Romy prevented his hat from flying off in the back of the convertible.

We got to ride in Bob and Linda's convertible for the drive down to Santa Cruz to work on the Desert Dingo baja. It was a lot of fun.

We took a walk today by the EBMUD reservoir in the hills between Oakland and Moraga. We were the only people on the trail!

I was doing a lot of studying today, to get ready for quals!

Today was Romy's lab group picnic at Lake Chabot. Prof. Chen is in the middle chair, and everybody else are graduate students in the lab group (except me and the girl behind me).

I look drunk but I only had half a glass of wine!

Today we had a dinner party, because Nicole and Marcel are going on vacation for three weeks tomorrow!

Today I worked on the computer a lot doing school stuff, even late into the night!

We parked the Daewoo all sideways today! Its funny!

I am trying to curve some metal with my new plannishing hammer.

Back to the office. This is my new desk, and yes, it is blocking a door. That door goes to the office next to me, but its meant to be closed.

Today we were mixing the cornstarch and soy sauce for stir-fry and we got to see how its a shear-thickening non-Newtonian fluid! Its really hard to mix if you try to quickly, but if you go slow, its easy.

This weekend is the VORRA 24-hour endurance race, outside of Fallon, Nevada. The Desert Dingo won the race in our class!

I am having a muffin (gluten-free that we baked yesterday) and strawberries, figs, and a glass of almond milk for breakfast.
