Today I cleaned up our backyard garden. I am standing under some strange pink upsidedown hanging flowers (I think they are native to Argentina).

While Mark was visiting, we went to Mt Diablo and climbed to the top. Then we went to Rock City (inside the park) and climbed into the wind caves.

We finally finished our 500 piece puzzle after a few hours of heavy concentration while the train chugged through Iowa.

Romy is taking a power nap on the train and I sneaked a picture! It is our first day on the California Zephyr Amtrak from Chicago to Emeryville.

Tonight we hung out at Jarolyn and Rich's apartment in Berwyn. We stayed there pretty late, until 1am!

Tonight was Bobby & Julie's wedding rehearsal and dinner afterwards. Everyone looks kind of tired!

Today we took the Buick to Ogden Top & Trim to get the vinyl roof put on. It turned out really nice (this picture is before the roof was put on).

Tonight we camped at Jenn's dad's lot in southern Indiana. It was really hot. We had a campfire and relaxed.

We got Romy's cherry picker out to hoist the gigantic tank into my dad's trailer and get it out from under the porch.

Arriving at Chicago Midway Airport after a 6:30am flight! We were so tired looking!

We are laughing because we put a sticker on N&M's heater furnace behind us. Its blurry, but the sticker was from Twilight, which Nicole was obsessed with when it came out.

Standing at the fourth Darwin waterfall. It is 60 feet tall, and makes a cool refreshing pool at the base where we went swimming later in the afternoon after a lunch break. We were the only ones to hike that far!

Standing over a beautiful oasis in the desert called Darwin Falls, home to 9 waterfalls as the springs which feed the oasis cascades down the canyon. We had to climb up and over the first waterfall to get past it (so we can see the other ones farther up the canyon), which required some scrambling up high on the canyon walls.

Squeezing through a tiny passage between a huge boulder and the wall of the canyon.

A giant double boulder jam in a narrow canyon somewhere in the northern end of the Black Mountains, Dip#2, off the Artist's Palette Drive in Death Valley Nat'nl Park. We squeezed through the hole on the lower right of the first boulder to get past it, but the second boulder was impassable for us.
